前号に続き、「女王蜂の現状」について
2匹居た新女王蜂は、7月11日には1匹しか確認できず、18日にはもう1匹も確認できなかった。
2匹共消失したと判断し、18日に「新女王蜂」作りのため、他の巣箱に作られた「王台」を巣枠毎導入した。
18日に内検を行ったが、前述の「王台」が付いた巣枠をよく見たところ、中型の産まれて間もない「新女王蜂」が確認できた。
この様に、「王台」から「新女王蜂」を作ったのは2度目であり、今回は上手く成長して貰いたい。
1度目の「新女王蜂」は、3週間ほどで何故か消失しているので、今回も油断できない。
女王蜂を排除するのは、働き蜂の女王蜂に対する感受性等によるものと言われており、敏感になっていなければと思っている。
写真の下側に「王台」が見られるが、王台の底には丸い穴が開いており、女王蜂が羽化したものである。
働きバチが女王蜂を排除する理由には、働きバチと女王バチの相性のようなものがあるのでしょうか。
それもあるかも知れませんね。
